Well, I just setup a paypal account, and have sent the money to tony costello for the first cymbal.It's so cheap compared to UK prices. It's worked out at $296 which is only UK ?167, plus I had a big choice of each cymbal type to listen to first. My custom dry light ride from wembley cost me ?230($415).
Uk shops maybe have one of each type, and sometimes not even a particular one in. I don't know what the US shops are like, but I'll bet their prices are better than here.

Aha, there ya go! [img]smile.gif[/img] Have you checked out their sound samples yet? There's loads. One for every cymbal pictured, that's all splashes, crashes, chinas, rides, you name it. And each picture is the actual cymbal, not a generic photo. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

I kind of came to accept that all good rides and hihats in UK would be at this price, but I'm thinking twice about where I buy from now. But the service is good at wembley,( kind of justifies a little more money when one thinks of how footes and pro perc operate), and I've always ended up buying really nice sounding stuff from them. Actually, I don't know why I'm saying ?230, the price was ?219. And the hihats were ?239, but I bartered with them and got the whole price down to ?414, so I guess, it wasn't such a bad deal. That works out at ?207 for each. They said they did it because they see me as a 'valued customer' Lol.
But you know what IS absolutely ridiculous is that they sell constantinople 20 and 22" rides and 14" hihats for stupid money, ?300 up to ?400! Honestly, the ride cymbal I'm buying plus all the others at that site are WAY better and way cheaper.

207 for each, yeah thats a pretty good deal actually. WDC also seems to be the only place in the South of England with a half decent selection of cymbals (instead of ordering them over the net where you can't test them out).
Anyone know if I'll get clobbered with import tax? I've been told no by a couple of people. Would that be true?
No matter, apparently I have to pay 5 to 9% tax and V.A.T, that'll bring the price up from ?167 to ?214. Oh well, I got a great cymbal coming, so doesn't matter I guess [img]smile.gif[/img]

I received my Agop ride and paid no import tax. Well, I gigged it last night, and wow! It's pretty thin and sounds amazing, just as I hoped, and just like joe correros. So dark! I set it up to the right of my 15" tom, just under the K custom dry light. They wrok well together, using the dry light as a main ride( more pingy) then the agop for extra wash and darkness. Kind of like when a 5 string bass player goes into overdrive and uses that extra low note when everything takes off. I love it! Bell has no note and is very low profile, so not the greatest bell, but the ride more than makes up for it.
Thanks Rudy for posting a review of your new Agop jazz ride. It sounds like it is a lovely one.
